This article provides a general understanding of Labforward’s platform components.
Labforward’s platform runs as multiple containers inside a Kubernetes cluster. Helm is used under the hood to manage the application. The cluster can be:
- Provided by the client. Labforward’s platform will be installed inside the Labforward namespace;
- New installation on a bare-metal Linux VM / dedicated server. Labforward provides a https://kurl.sh/ installer to create and start up the new cluster.
Labforward’s platform is managed by Replicated's KOTS (Kubernetes-Off-The-Shelf), which is deployed as an application inside Kubernetes during the installation process. Then, the system admin will use the KOTS admin dashboard to configure and deploy the Labforward applications.
