You do not always get everything perfect on the first attempt. And sometimes circumstances may change. Whatever the case, it may always become necessary to change Categories or their access rights. This article shows how to do it.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Adding an Attribute

  1. Click OPTIONS.
  2. Click Category attributes.

  1. Click EDIT.

  1. Click ADD ATTRIBUTE.

  1. For this example, I am choosing "safety" as Attribute name because new regulations require.
  2. I choose a dropdown as Attribute type. This comes with two options by default. Further options may be added.
  3. I created the options "significantly hazardous", "mildly hazardous", and "harmless" to comply with regulations.
  4. I am making this mandatory, because regulations need to be implemented.
Note: Because mandatory Attributes must be filled, it ought to be carefully considered which ones to create in this way. If, for example, you create "stock" as mandatory, a value must always be entered, even if an item is created and it is yet unclear what the status of the stock is and you would rather leave it blank for the time being.
  1. Finally, click SAVE here.

  1. Click SAVE one more time here. Click BACK to return to standard view.

Note: Values of newly added Attributes need to be added for existing Items, even if an Attribute is mandatory. When creating new Items the new Attribute will be regarded.
