When updating an Item in Labregister, what happens to the links in my Labfolder Entries?

After a Labregister Item has been updated, the Item link in the respective Entry is still pointing to the version that has been current at the time of creation. However, at the bottom of the information page, a message is displayed that the Item has been updated. And a link is provided to access the recent-most version on that item.
